Marbella to Tarifa, Spain
We left Marbella camp site, point A, and travelled the two hrs along the coast to Tarifa, point B, on the southern coast of Spain.
Our camp site at Tarifa was Camping Rio Jara – https://campingriojara.com – Cost 24 euros per night but only stayed for three nights (no discount cards excepted). The site we would rate as average, toilets were clean, and cleaned daily, there was also a small bar-restaurant area.
We also visited Gibraltar from this base but will cover that in another post. The next day we visited the offices of FRS, one of two local ferry operators and bought two ferry tickets for 60euros for both of us which included return journey, fully escorted tour of Tangier and surrounding areas and lunch in a local restaurant. Money well spent, would recommend.
Tangiers, Morocco
It would have cost us same if we just wanted a return ticket so really no extra for the tour and lunch. During the tour of the market areas we were inundated with sole traders selling souvenirs, jewelry, and various other gifts. This was constant all afternoon, they just don’t take no for an answer and try to wear you down. Yes they wore us down and we bought. Well they have to make a living dont they?

We did want to see more of Morocco but didn’t want to take the car over and drive for hrs to places like Casablanca, Marrakesh and Rabat. We also were hesitant at leaving the caravan in Spain as we had one stolen in UK last year. And there are really no caravan parks in Morocco, so that was not an option.
