Fabian and Paul stayed at our house for three months & we couldn’t be happier with our choice. Our dogs clearly loved them! They took great care of the house and were excellent at keeping in touch. I wouldn’t hesitate to have them sit for us again- just an excellent couple!

Fabian and Paul arrived at the time agreed and we instantly felt at ease with them. They looked after our house, 3 cats and indoor and outdoor goldfish very well, while we were away for a month. After we had been away 3 days, there was a problem with the fish pond, which thankfully Fabian and Pail dealt with. This avoided us having to return home and they saved the fish. While we were away, they sent photographs and emails regularly to reassure us all was well. When we arrived home, the house was clean and tidy, the garden was also tidy, the lawns having been cut and flowers watered. Fabian had also prepared a meal for us and there was a bottle of fizzy cooling in the fridge. We can not recommend Fabian and Paul enough, they are excellent house and pet sitters and fully trustworthy. We would definitely ask them to sit for us again.

Fabian and Paul left us this morning after a month looking after my home and two dogs in Andalusia, Spain. It’s the second time I’ve used Trusted Housesitters, and my experience with Fabian and Paul could not have been better. They stayed in touch throughout their stay. On my return the house with impeccable and my dogs were extremely well-cared for. My pool and plants were equally well-tended. They stayed an extra night and prepared a lovely dinner for my son and I. It was an amazing welcome after a long trip. We caught up on their time here and it was a pleasure to spend some time with this special couple. I was extremely sad to see them leave this morning and would be delighted to have them back to house sit anytime or even just to stop by for lunch. Amazing! I could not recommend them highly enough.

Some of Our Assignments

Burgau – Portugal

House Sitters Burgua Portugal
Fabian with Lucy and Milo

Our first Trusted House Sitters assignment was in the small fishing village of Burgau in the Algarve, South Portugal. You can read an accoount of our stay on our travel blog “House Sitting in Burgau Portugal”. we had a real mix here with an 8 yr old great dame called Lucy and the most adorable stafford terrier called Milo. We have one thing in common with or doggie freinds and thats personnallity. Both had personality plus. Lucy, playfull but reserved, but Milo, what an amazing doggy. Very loyal and protective but also very playfull. He would keep us entered every-time we watered the lawn with the sprinkler, he just loved to try bitting the water at the sprinkler head as it rotated, so funny.

Colares – Portugal

Fabian with Harry and Gus, Lucy the Labrdor in the foerground

Colares is approximitly 40kms to the west of Lisbon in Portugal. This was our second trusted house sitters assignment in Portugal. There was plenty of room on the driveway for our caravan (trailer). This home stay was great as it allowed us to look after three beautiful dogs. We had two little white havanese dogs called Gus and Harry and a Labrador called Lucy. Lucy was 15 and a little unsteady but Gus and Harry both 8 yrs old and lots of energy. Daily walks for these guys was a scream, barking and yapping as soon as walky time was mentioned and then pee, poo and sniffs all the way. Martenet – France

Trusted House sitters
Lulu and Lucy

Martinet is in the province of Vendee on the central west coast of France. We were here for the month of April 2019. We had alot in common with the owners as they also owned a motor home. While we looked after there three cats, a gold fish pond and their beautiful gardens, they traveled to Spain and Portugal. The cats where easy to look after but the gold fish pond required the filters cleaned a couple of times. Loved the gardens, bueatful lawns. There was a drive on mower so all good. You can read about this house stay in our blog page House Sitting in Martinet France.

Agua Amarga – Spain

Trusted House Sitters
Fabian walking with Lola and Bimba

While caravaning down the coast of Spain we answered another Trusted House Sitters listing. This one was unique, situated in a national park and just outside the village of Aqua Amarga. Closest major city was Almeria appromitly 62kms away. Here we had the pleasure of caring for two little terriers, one gold the other black. Bimba and Lola. As we were in the national park walking those two little darlings was pretty easy. Just open the front door, down the driveway and you are in the national park (Parque Natural de Cabo de Gata). We never got tired of walking in this park and we were able to let Bimba and Lola run free which they loved. However we did lose sight of them at time, especially Lola. She used to love running after rabbits and variably got lost. So sometime we had to call her back which took time. Shropshire – UK

Trusted House Sitters
Willow and Humphry

One of our favourite house sits would have been a three floor converted coach house just outside a small village called Pulverbatch, in Shropshire, UK. This was very isolated and great views over the spwaling countryside from the kitchen windows. Here, under our charge was the lovey but timid “Willow” and the wild but wonderful cat called “Humphrey” or the hairy one. They had a love-hate relationship but Humphrey was definitly the boss. There was a large garden at the back of the house were we used to sit in the evenings and try to teach willow how to play catch the ball, it didnt work. Again yet to wirte a blog on this house sit. This is the sort of place you would want to live to get away from the hussle and bustle of the larger towns and cities. Great place to write an novel and only a 30 minute walk to the local British country pub. You can read about this house sit in our travel blog Coach House Trusted Sitters.

Shrewsbury UK

Trusted House Sitters
Shrewsbury Clancy

On numous occions we would go to my sisters house in Shrewsbury UK. This house sit was always a pleasure. Why, yes of course to see my sister but also to look after her incredible smart cockapoo dogge called “Clancy”. Clancy has so much energy so lots of walks in the park. lots of ball throwing and lots of catching. Shrewsbury has lots of history and is on the river Severn. The local park is called the Quarry and only a short walk from my sisters house. Another geat place to take Clancy for walks was Attingham Park. A natinal trust property with lots of history. We still have to write a blog about our time in Shrewsbury so haven’t got a link to that story yet.

Bais – France

Bais, France was another great house sit for us. We met and fell in love with Saffy, A female stafford terrier. She was a delight to look after and we had many lovely walks throughout the area. Saffy’s walks included forrests, river tow paths, the lake and rowan ruins to name a few. Saffy did get a eye infection while we were in charge with emergency vet treatment. She had to wear a cone over her head for several weeks. All good though and vet give her a full recovery tick just after we left. You can read about this house sit in our blog Trusted House Sitters Bais France

Ballyclare – Ireland

Alfie
Ballyclare Alfie

Here we have Ballyclare Alfie the Shiatsu. We get great pleasure out of playing with our furry friends. Alfie was no exception and always happy to get out for a walk. He is so small we would lose sight of him in the long gress along the side of the road 😂. He didn’t mind the snow on our walks and would pull us along, faster faster eh! His little facial expressions just so serious, that stare that told you off all the time. “Now you just do what your told”. “Play ball with me” “take me for a walk” “feed me”. Such a pleasure to be with was our little Alfie. You can read about this trip to Ballyclace in our travel blog A Visit to Ballyclare Ireland.
