Road Trip Agua Amarga – Marbella, Costa Del Sol
On this trip we left our amazing house sit in Agua Amarga and traveled 4 hours along the coast to to our camp site on the Costa Del Sol. One has to travel at a safe speed while towing a caravan. Experienced caravaners usually can gauge what speed they should travel at dependant of the weather and road conditions. Always plan your route ahead of time and take main roads or motorways.
We do our research on the the route and what campsite we should call base camp. We settled on Camping Cabopino and weren’t disappointed. For our experiences on this campsite click on this link Camping Cabopino Marbella.
Puerto Banus
Puerto Banus Marina (centre) in the Costa Del Sol, Southern Spain, was built in May 1970, to be the in place for the wealthy with their mega yachts. The marina and surrounding residence and shops were built by Puerto José Banús, a local property developer.
Puerto Banús is known as Costa del Sol’s playground for the rich and wealthy that come here for the beaches, the beach clubs, and the buzzing nightlife. The shops and restaurants reflect this expensive lifestyle, with plenty of designer names on offer around the marina. We noticed lots of sports cars are plenty of Ferraris and luxury yachts to admire.
Marbella
There are many pleasant walking tracks along the coast from our camp site. Cabopino beach towards Fuengirola. We loved the old township of Marbella which reflects its architectural past, with its narrow cobbled stone streets. From the old township we walked down to the waterfront for lunch.
Map of Old Town
Spain is famous for its tapas, which I would call finger food, they look so delicious, and we get so excited over food, so we decided to seek out a wine and tapas bar for lunch. Found one right on the street corner opposite the beach and ordered two red wines and half a dozen delicious tapas. The total bill cost us less than 10 euro and we left the bar fully appreciative of spainish tapas and wine.
Fuengirola
Fuengirola is another very populal town on the Costa Del Sol, but we didnt spend much time there. Parked the car at a major shopping precinct and started on a walking sightseeing tour. We found Its beaches, restaurants and shopping in quaint cobbled streets very appealing. I dont think that anyone who has visited the Costa Del Sol can say they were disappointed. It has an ambiance of fun and excitment and suited for any age.
